Is Disneyland Worth The Trip?
I have a lot of opinions about this. I am a Disney World - DIE HARD fan. I was really nervous going into Disneyland thinking that I wouldn’t love it. What if the small park would be not so fun for me…
Though it is the original Disney park… I worried that I would be underwhelmed. Well… to make a long story short- I WAS NOT.
Let’s chat about Three Reasons why I think Disneyland IS worth the trip.
AVENGERS CAMPUS
All I have to say is this is a game-changer. As of now, WDW does not have an avengers campus. This was literally my favorite part of the entire trip. Breckan and I are huge Marvel fans. We visited here SEVERAL times during our trip.
Highlights from Avengers campus:
PYMS- the food here was amazing. They had gluten-free options as well.
The Avengers building- though you can’t go inside this building, it is such a fun photo opp.
Shawarma- can you tell that I am a foodie? I am DEF at Disney because of the food.
Seeing all the characters- I usually am not a huge character person at Disney ( which I know is not typical of a Disney fan). Seeing Loki and Starlord would make your day! I shed a tear whenever I saw Black Panther.
There are a lot of opportunities for character interaction and just a lot of fun quirky sides to the Avengers Campus and literally is worth the trip JUST for that campus alone.
2. The Ease of Getting From One Park to another
You can literally walk from one park to another during the day. They are within walking distance: and not the exhausting walking distance we know from WDW. I am talking like 3 mins from entrance one to entrance 2.
Highlights of smaller parks:
You can get things done in ONE DAY- You can get a park hopper and literally from park open to park close do ALMOST everything. This is really fun for people that get overwhelmed at WDW. It’s the best taste of Disney
You can take your time- You can spend a day and do the parks OR you can take your time and spend several days there and just take your time to see everything. My husband and I spent 4 days at Disneyland park and I have to say- it was worth it. I still feel like I could have done more. We took our time to really enjoy the experience. We spent all day at the park till around 2-4 and went home to rest and relax. This is not something people typically do at Disney World unless you plan a rest day. We stayed on Disney property so we would just walk back to our hotel after our day at Disneyland.
3. Original Disney Park
I know that I touched on this earlier. Nothing can be the OGs. The magic of what Walt intended this park to be is still alive and well.
The benefits of Walt’s Original Park:
Walkthrough of the Castle- you can literally walk through the inside of the castle. This is something I wish was a thing at WDW. This was so special and fun and made me cry a little.
Shorter wait times- A lot of the wait times for popular rides are still long but not as long as WDW. Also, if you get Genie Plus this will absolutely make your day easier.
Original rides- There are some rides here that are not available at WDW. At Disneyland Park: Alice in Wonderland, Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Break Out, Snow White’s Enchanted Wish.
There are a lot more reasons why I think Disneyland is worth the trip but those are what stick out to me. It is definitely worth the trip. There may be things you may miss as a WDW regular: there isn’t as much to do! But for some people, this is enough! I will definitely recommend this for my clients in the future.
